This year's competition theme, "Earth Allies," emphasized the role of robots in promoting environmental sustainability and addressing ecological challenges.

MEPEQ’s team members, who served as part of the jury, commented: “It was a challenging task to select the winners due to the impressive work and dedication demonstrated by the children. We were truly impressed by the youth's talents and their creative ideas for using technology to serve Mother Earth, from marine savers that detect and clean up water pollution to trucks running on water for responsible irrigation, and other innovative solutions addressing ecological challenges.”

Jenny Chemaly, head of the WRO Lebanon, expressed appreciation for the support provided by MEPEQ to help young innovators and engineers in Lebanon.

The winners will represent Lebanon in the World Robot Olympiad in Izmir, Turkey, from November 28 to 30, and in the Italian Open Championship 2024 from September 25 to 28.

Founded in 2004, the World Robot Olympiad Association is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to “bring together young people all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities.”
